Search Fields

Located within the search text box to the far right is the Search Fields selection.

Search Fields are intended to help improve search accuracy by narrowing or expanding the search across the 7 searchable fields. This allows you to narrow or expand your search by ensuring that the search criteria you enter is looking in the most helpful fields for what you are looking for.

By default, most searches return the best results with the 5 defaults: File Name, Family Type Name, Family Category, Material Class, and Tags. This allows for a broad search of your criteria. In the case that you need more specific information to be searched for like parameter names or values you may also turn these on.

A simple example may be to find a specific kind of door that has a parameter name with “swing” in it that will help to ensure the swing of the door is adjustable. Likewise, if you are getting more results than helpful and you are searching for only name specific information you may select only the file name to search by.
